You Inspire Me

To My Beautiful Child,

You Inspire Me mothers love letters

You, age 9 months MothersLoveLetters.com

Lately, I have been waking up early, every single morning, with a vigor and zest for life that I’ve never experienced before.

When you came into my life, something major shifted within me.

Without a shadow of a doubt, becoming your mother has given me a new strength and power that I never previously knew possible.

In this one of my Mother’s Love Letters, I want you to know how much you have inspired me to fearlessly follow my dreams…

And be the best person I can be for you, daddy, our world, and of course, for me.

You are now 9 months old – crawling, standing, climbing, feeding yourself.

You give very very nice and unexpected kisses. You even kiss yourself in the mirror.

The other day, I turned away for just a moment, and you had climbed on the couch, sat in front of the TV, turned on the remote control, sitting there comfortably.

You always do the things you’re not allowed to do!

Daddy has started to call you “The Drain Licker” for targeting the bathroom drain, putting your mouth and lips on the tiled floor and slurping the water from it! Yes, one day you will find this terribly YUCKY!

Unlike you, I have to try very hard to stay in the present moment.

I drift off, wondering how you became so big and mobile and rapid in your movements, so quickly?

And constantly think about how tiny you were, when you entered this world. Just like when I wrote a letter to you, at aged 5 weeks saying All You Have To Do… Is Smile.

A friend mentioned the baby shower we had for you, before you were born, “earlier this year”.

“This year?” I said. “Was that this year?” She was absolutely right.

Earlier this year, you were completely safe and warm and protected inside my uterus. Today, look at you.

What is so truly beautiful about Inspiration -

Is that it comes from within.

It is said, that inspiration is derived from root words that mean “in spirit” or “spirit within“.

I describe inspiration, as a force, a powerful force that comes from within you. It  makes you wake up and feel and lets you know that you have something very important to do.

It helps you to create. It is pure.

It comes from the part of you that is always with you, the real you, the part that knows everything.

Sometimes you may think inspiration comes from outside of you. For example, you may think that a person, a song, a movie, a piece of writing, inspires you do to something.

True.

Other people and things can get you thinking and make you feel inspired.

But, what they’ve done, is created that stir of a power, within you.

Those who can help others to connect with their own inspiration, do a great service for our world.

These people break through their own fears in response to the calling from their own spirit.

By doing so, they give themselves permission to shine and, as a natural result, give others permission to do the same.

When I say that YOU inspire me, I mean:

Just by you being you, without thinking, questioning or hesitating, you shine and allow me to do the same.

YOU ignite the spirit within me, to do the thing I was born to do.

When I was pregnant, I knew how important it was to me, to give birth to you, without any drugs or medical intervention.

I wanted to know my own strength, and connect with that part of me.

I wanted to feel every contraction, every movement as you made your way down and through my physical body, and traveled through the birth canal into this wild, wonderful, crazy, challenging world.

What a privilege, to truly know my strength and power from within, and to have shared those intimate moments, exclusive only to Mother and Child. Between you and me.

I love this feeling of being inspired.

I love you so much.

Thank you for inspiring me.

Thank you for being in my life.

Love,

Mummy xxx

  • We are always on the same wavelength Lina! I wrote an article on the difference between inspiration and motivation a long time ago and it carried the same message as what you have written here.

I love the power that exists within each of us! Magic can happen when we tap into it- even better when we have a team of people tapping into it :)

How amazing that early this year he was still in your belly, and now he is 9 months old :)

He is so gorgeous – and I love how he inspires you. What an amazing experience parenting is…funny how he loves to get into the drain water – my oldest used to love to head for the dry dog food!!

    Cheers
    Lisa

  • Lina I burst out laughing when you said he climbed on the couch and turned the tv on. Are you sure he has only been in this world 9mths? I love reading about little Khoas’ antics.

    • lina says:

The TV thing is a little scary! And we hardly ever watch it!
I also get worried about him seeing me on the computer so much.
But, that’s another topic and letter, I guess…
      Thanks, Jackie!
